Inspection Record

An Inspection Record is a written document formed in foreign trade by an inspection agency, buyer's representative, or factory quality control department after inspecting the quantity, quality, packaging, specifications, etc. of goods during production, before shipment, or after arrival. It typically serves as a delivery voucher, a basis for claims, or one of the documents for letter of credit negotiation. Usage scenarios include: pre-shipment inspection (PSI), inspection upon arrival, third-party inspection (e.g., SGS, BV), etc. Notes: The inspection record must be signed and stamped by an authorized inspector, with specific and objective content, and indicate the inspection date, location, and batch number; if a letter of credit requires an 'Inspection Record', it should be submitted strictly in accordance with the issuer and content specified in the L/C, otherwise payment may be refused. Difference from other terms: An Inspection Certificate is usually issued by an official or designated agency, has legal effect, and is used for customs clearance or claims; while an Inspection Record focuses more on the inspection process and results recorded internally or by the buyer, and does not necessarily have official effect.
