Promotion Notice

A Promotion Notice is a formal written document in foreign trade through which the seller or buyer informs the other party of an upcoming or ongoing promotional campaign. It is commonly used in scenarios such as exhibition invitations, new product launches, end-of-season clearance, and holiday discounts. Its core function is to communicate promotional details in advance (such as discount rates, buy-one-get-one conditions, validity period, and applicable products) to stimulate purchasing demand, clear inventory, or promote new products. Use cases include: sending exclusive offers to existing customers, sending limited-time discounts to potential customers, and notifying agents to participate in joint promotions. Precautions: clearly specify the promotion start and end dates, applicable product scope, minimum order quantity, and whether it can be combined with other offers; avoid vague expressions such as 'huge discount' and instead quantify the specific discount; if price adjustments are involved, indicate whether confirmed orders are affected. Unlike a Quotation, a Promotion Notice is not a formal offer and usually has no legal binding force, but if the other party accepts it and places an order, it may constitute an invitation to treat; unlike a Price Reduction Notice, a Promotion Notice emphasizes short-term marketing activity, while a Price Reduction Notice may be a long-term price adjustment.
