The Contract Seal is an official stamp affixed to the text of a foreign trade contract, typically round or oval, containing the company name, the words 'Contract Seal', and a serial number. Its legal effect is equivalent to the company's official seal, used to confirm the final acceptance of the contract terms and the authenticity of the signing entity. Usage scenarios include: formal written contracts, order confirmations, agency agreements, etc. Precautions: The Contract Seal must match the company's registered name; it is usually affixed at the signature area at the end of the contract and across the seam of pages. If the contract has multiple pages, a seam seal should be applied to prevent tampering. Difference from the 'Official Seal': The official seal is used for administrative matters, while the Contract Seal is specifically for commercial contracts, but both can legally represent the company's will. Difference from 'Signature': The Contract Seal can replace the legal representative's signature, but some countries (such as certain Middle Eastern countries) require both signature and seal. Foreign trade practitioners should ensure the Contract Seal is recognized in the counterparty's country, and if necessary, have it notarized or authenticated.
