Full Refund

Full Refund means the seller or service provider returns the entire amount paid by the buyer to the buyer, either unconditionally or under agreed conditions. It usually occurs in cases such as transaction cancellation, serious non-conformity of goods, breach of contract, or mutual agreement between the parties. Use cases include: the buyer receives damaged or wrong goods, the seller fails to deliver on time, letter of credit terms cannot be performed, or an e-commerce platform consumer exercises the right of no-reason return. Notes: A full refund is not the same as compensation; generally only the principal is refunded, excluding interest, freight, customs duties, and other extra costs (unless expressly agreed in the contract). Before refunding, responsibility should be clearly determined to avoid waiving the right of recourse because of the refund. For cross-border refunds, exchange rate fluctuations, who bears the fees, and foreign exchange controls should be considered. The difference from a "Partial Refund" lies in whether the refund amount covers all payments made; the difference from "Compensation" is that the latter may include additional losses. It is advisable to specify in the contract the trigger conditions, time limit, and refund route for a full refund.
