Printing Defect

Printing Defect is a common quality term in industries such as textiles, apparel, toys, and packaging. It refers to defects in the printed pattern on a product's surface, including color deviation, misregistration, blurred pattern, missing print, ghosting, cracking, and peeling. In foreign trade, this term is often used in order production, inspection, complaints, and claims. Usage scenarios include: customers finding printing issues during inspection and requesting rework or price reduction; factories communicating quality abnormalities with trading companies; buyers and sellers agreeing on acceptance criteria for printing defects in contracts (e.g., AQL sampling level). Notes: 1. The specific type and extent of the defect should be clearly defined to avoid vague descriptions; 2. Judgment should be based on industry standards or customer-approved samples; 3. It should be distinguished from terms such as 'Color Difference' and 'Stain'—Printing Defect specifically refers to defects caused by the printing process, not issues with the fabric itself or finishing. 4. In international trade, it is recommended to specify in the PI or contract that 'the printing defect rate shall not exceed X%' to avoid disputes.
