Rotation Quantity

Rotation Quantity refers to the specific quantity for each round (i.e., each batch confirmed by email) when the same batch of goods is shipped in multiple sequential shipments during the execution of a foreign trade order. It is commonly used in long-term supply contracts or partial delivery scenarios, where the buyer notifies the seller of the shipment quantity for each round via email, and the seller arranges production, booking, and customs declaration accordingly. When using this term, note that the sum of quantities per round should equal the total contract quantity, and the rotation sequence and time intervals must be clearly stated in the emails to avoid confusion with 'Partial Shipment Quantity'—the latter only refers to the quantity in a single partial shipment and does not emphasize round sequence or email confirmation mechanism. Additionally, rotation quantities may be constrained by inventory, shipping schedules, and letter of credit shipment periods; failure to complete a round on time may affect subsequent rounds and LC document presentation. In practice, it is recommended to list the round number, quantity, and estimated shipment date in the email and request a reply for confirmation to form written evidence.
