Rotation Report

Rotation Report is a professional term in international maritime container transport. It refers to a written report sent by the shipping company or freight forwarder to the shipper, consignee, or relevant parties after the vessel's departure, regarding the actual stowage position and rotation sequence of containers on board. Its core function is to inform each shipment's container position in the vessel's Bay Plan and the impact of the vessel's port call sequence on container loading and unloading. It is commonly used under shipping terms such as FOB and CIF, when cargo involves multiple port discharges or when specific containers need to be prioritized for unloading. Note: The report must be consistent with the bill of lading and manifest information; if the stowage position may cause delayed unloading, communicate with the shipping company promptly for adjustment. Unlike the 'stowage plan,' the rotation report emphasizes port call sequence and container rotation logic rather than a simple position chart. Foreign trade practitioners should pay attention to this report to arrange pickup or transshipment at the destination port.
