Return Confirmation

Return Confirmation is a written or electronic document in foreign trade through which the buyer or seller, after receiving a return request, formally agrees to the return and confirms the relevant terms. Use scenarios include: the buyer requests a return due to quality issues, wrong shipment, market changes, etc.; after review, the seller issues a Return Confirmation specifying the return address, return deadline, refund or exchange method, and the party bearing costs. Precautions: once issued, a Return Confirmation is generally regarded as both parties reaching an agreement on the return matter and is legally binding, so the return reason, cargo condition, and liability attribution must be carefully verified; for cross-border returns, customs duties, customs clearance, and logistics costs must also be considered. Difference from other terms: Return Authorization emphasizes the authorization action, while Return Confirmation emphasizes mutual consent and confirmation of terms; Refund Confirmation only addresses the refund step, whereas Return Confirmation may include exchange or repair.
