Quality Authorization

Quality Authorization in foreign trade refers to a written confirmation issued by the importer or end customer to the supplier (exporter), indicating that they have inspected or evaluated the samples, production processes, or entire batch of goods provided by the supplier, and acknowledge that the quality meets the agreed standards, allowing the supplier to continue production, shipment, or use of specific quality marks. It is commonly used in OEM/ODM cooperation, long-term supply agreements, or orders involving customized products. Usage scenarios include: authorizing mass production after customer sample approval, authorizing shipment after inspection passes, and authorizing the use of customer brands or quality certification marks. Precautions: Authorization typically requires a clear scope (e.g., batch, model, validity period), signature and seal of the authorizer, retention of written records, and should not be confused with 'quality certification' (third-party certification) or 'quality acceptance' (general acceptance of quality). Quality authorization emphasizes the buyer's unilateral permission to the seller, while quality certification is a proof of quality by an independent body. Lack of authorization may lead to rejected deliveries or unclear liability.
