IP67

IP67 is a rating in the international Ingress Protection standard IEC 60529, used to indicate the level of protection electrical equipment has against solid foreign objects and liquids. The first digit 6 after IP indicates the highest dust protection level, completely preventing dust ingress; the second digit 7 indicates water protection, meaning the device can be immersed in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes without water entering. This term is commonly found in specifications of export products such as electronics, lighting fixtures, and outdoor equipment, especially for markets with strict safety certification requirements like Europe and North America. Usage scenarios include product manuals, technical annexes to contracts, customs declaration documents, and e-commerce detail pages. Note: IP67 is not permanently waterproof and is not suitable for long-term underwater operation; it is clearly different from IP68 (continuous immersion) and IP65 (water jet protection) and must not be confused; third-party test reports (e.g., TUV, SGS) are required for export to prove compliance. Compared with IP66, IP67 has a higher water protection level but the same dust protection level. Foreign trade practitioners should accurately understand customers' requirements for protection ratings to avoid returns or claims due to rating mismatch.
