It is widely used in production quality control, supply chain management, contract performance, logistics arrangements, and customer complaint prevention. For example, an exporter proactively conducts risk assessments on production processes and adjusts techniques before receiving customer quality feedback, which constitutes a preventive action. Note: Preventive actions must be based on data analysis or risk identification, with clear responsible persons, deadlines, and effectiveness verification; they differ from corrective actions, which address the causes of existing nonconformities, while preventive actions target potential problems. Additionally, preventive actions are distinct from specific operations like 'preventive maintenance' and focus more on proactive improvements at the management system level. In foreign trade contracts, buyers and sellers may stipulate preventive action clauses to reduce performance risks.
