Trucking Freight

Trucking Freight refers to the costs incurred during the inland transportation of goods, typically covering short-haul or long-haul trucking expenses from the place of origin (such as a factory or warehouse) to a port/airport, or from a port/airport to a destination warehouse. In foreign trade, it is often listed alongside ocean freight and air freight as a key component of logistics costs. Usage scenarios include: under FOB terms, the seller is responsible for the trucking freight of delivering goods to the port of shipment; under CIF terms, the buyer bears the trucking freight from the destination port to the warehouse; or under EXW terms, the buyer bears all trucking freight. Precautions: It is necessary to clarify whether the costs include fuel surcharges, toll fees, and loading/unloading fees; distinguish between "inland freight" and "trucking freight," which are sometimes used interchangeably, but trucking freight emphasizes truck transportation; it differs from "trailer fee," which specifically refers to short-distance drayage between ports and container yards. The difference from "ocean freight" lies in the mode of transportation, and trucking freight is more heavily affected by oil prices, road conditions, and policies. It is recommended to specify in the contract the origin and destination, billing method (per vehicle, per ton, per kilometer), and the responsible party to avoid disputes.
