Order Sample

Order Sample refers to a physical sample that the buyer requests the seller to provide before placing a formal order, used to confirm product quality, specifications, packaging, and other details. It is usually provided before mass production and, after buyer confirmation, serves as the quality basis for subsequent bulk deliveries. Use scenarios include: new customer development, new product launch, and quality re-verification before repeat orders from existing customers. Precautions: 1) The order sample should represent mass production level to avoid claims caused by 'sample inconsistent with bulk goods'; 2) The bearing parties for sample fees and courier fees, and whether they are refundable, should be clarified; 3) After confirmation, the sample should be sealed, with each party keeping one copy as the acceptance standard. Unlike a 'Sales Sample', an order sample focuses more on the order confirmation stage rather than pure promotion; compared with a 'Production Sample', an order sample may be provided during small-batch trial production, while a production sample usually refers to a sample drawn from mass production. Foreign trade practitioners should attach importance to the management of order samples to reduce transaction risks.
