Drum packaging is a common packaging term in foreign trade, referring to the loading of liquid, semi-solid, or powdered goods into cylindrical drum containers. Drums are typically made of metal (such as steel drums), plastic, or fiberboard, with capacities ranging from a few liters to over 200 liters. Usage scenarios include the transportation and storage of chemicals, lubricants, food additives, coatings, and other goods. Precautions: The material and sealing level of the drum should be selected according to the nature of the goods; for example, dangerous goods require steel drums that meet UN standards. Drummed goods may leak due to shaking during transportation, so reinforcement and shock absorption are needed. For sea transport, attention should be paid to the stacking layer limit of drums. Differences from other terms: Drum packaging emphasizes that the container is a drum, while bag packaging, case packaging, etc., use different packaging forms. Compared with bulk, drum packaging provides independent packaging, making it easier to handle and distribute. In foreign trade documents, the material, capacity, quantity, and gross/net weight of the drums must be clearly stated.
