Contract Technical Documentation

Contract Technical Documentation refers to the set of documents delivered by the seller or technology provider along with equipment, production lines, or technology licenses in international trade contracts, describing product design, manufacturing, operation, maintenance, etc. It typically includes drawings, specifications, operation manuals, maintenance guides, certificates of conformity, and software documentation. It is commonly used in complete equipment export, technology transfer, EPC projects, and import of mechanical and electrical products. Precautions: First, the language of the documentation must be specified (e.g., Chinese-English bilingual) to avoid disputes arising from translation ambiguity; second, delivery time, number of copies, medium (paper/electronic), and intellectual property ownership must be stipulated in the contract; third, if export-controlled technology is involved, relevant regulations must be complied with. Easily confused with 'Contract Technical Documentation' is 'Technical Agreement', which focuses on the agreement between parties on technical standards and acceptance methods, whereas the former is a specific deliverable; compared with 'Accompanying Documents', contract technical documentation may include additional non-accompanying documents such as training and installation.
