Installation Guidance

Installation Guidance is a common service clause in foreign trade contracts, referring to the technical guidance services provided by the seller to the buyer after the delivery of equipment or systems, typically including on-site guidance, remote support, or the provision of installation manuals. It is commonly used in trade of goods requiring professional installation, such as machinery, electronic products, and complete sets of equipment. Notes: 1. The method of guidance (on-site/remote), number of personnel, duration, cost bearing (e.g., travel expenses, accommodation) and whether included in the contract price should be clearly specified; 2. It differs from 'Installation and Commissioning', which usually means the seller is responsible for completing installation and commissioning to an operational state, whereas Installation Guidance only provides advice and training, with the buyer performing the operations; 3. It overlaps with 'Technical Training', but Installation Guidance focuses more on the installation phase. Distinction: If the contract requires the seller to 'be responsible for installation', it is an installation service; if only 'guidance for installation', the buyer bears the main installation responsibility. It is recommended to detail the scope of guidance, acceptance criteria, and liability for breach in the contract to avoid disputes.
