Top and Bottom Cover

In the packaging industry, '天地盖' refers to a box type consisting of a separate top cover (heaven) and bottom base (earth), commonly known in English as a 'Top and Bottom Cover' or 'Lid and Base Box'. Its key feature is that the lid and base are completely separate, closed by telescoping or snapping together. It is often used for high-end packaging such as gift boxes, shoe boxes, and electronics boxes. In foreign trade, customers frequently specify the '天地盖' structure, and attention must be paid to the dimensional fit between lid and base (usually the lid's inner diameter is slightly larger than the base's outer diameter), materials (e.g., grey board wrapped with paper, corrugated), and printing processes. Unlike a 'hinged box', the 天地盖 has no connecting piece and opens and closes completely separately; compared with a 'drawer box', the 天地盖 is a vertical telescoping fit rather than a horizontal pull-out. When quoting, the dimensions, grammage, printing, and finishing processes for the lid and base must be specified separately to avoid returns caused by fit tolerance issues. During transportation, moisture and pressure protection are necessary; palletizing and adding corner protectors are recommended.
