CE Certification

CE Certification is a mandatory safety conformity mark implemented by the European Union for products imported and sold within the EU, indicating that the product complies with the essential requirements of relevant EU directives (such as the Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive, Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive, etc.). Application scenarios: Any product circulating in the EU market that falls within the scope of CE certification (such as electronic and electrical appliances, toys, machinery, medical devices, etc.) must bear the CE mark; otherwise, it may not be placed on the market for sale. Precautions: CE certification is not a quality certification but a safety conformity mark; different products are subject to different applicable directives and harmonized standards, and corresponding conformity assessment procedures must be carried out (such as self-declaration or involvement of a notified body); manufacturers must sign a Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and maintain technical documentation. Differences from other terms: CE certification is different from quality management system certifications such as ISO 9001, and also different from China's CCC certification (which targets the Chinese market). Foreign trade practitioners should note: CE certification is the "passport" for products entering the EU, but not all products require CE certification, and certification requirements may be updated, so timely attention should be paid to the Official Journal of the European Union.
