Customer Compensation Waiver

Customer Compensation Waiver is a legal or commercial arrangement in the after-sales repair process of foreign trade, referring to the customer (buyer) voluntarily waiving the right to further claims or additional compensation for the same issue after receiving repair or replacement of defective products from the seller. It is commonly found in repair agreements within or outside the warranty period. To avoid subsequent disputes, the seller often requires the customer to sign this waiver. Usage scenarios include: after a product malfunction, the seller provides free repair, but the customer may demand compensation for downtime losses, etc.; in this case, the seller exchanges repair for the customer's waiver of other claims. Precautions: The waiver should clearly specify the repair items, the scope of compensation waived (such as direct losses, indirect losses, loss of profit, etc.), and ensure the customer signs voluntarily to avoid being deemed invalid as a standard clause. Unlike a 'Settlement Agreement,' which typically involves monetary compensation and ends all disputes, this term only addresses compensation waiver after repair and does not necessarily terminate all contractual obligations. It also differs from a 'Disclaimer Clause,' which is pre-agreed in the contract, whereas this term is a post-event waiver for a specific repair incident.
