Quality Manual

The Quality Manual is a core document of the quality management system in international trade, typically prepared in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard, used to describe a company's quality policy, objectives, organizational structure, and main processes. Its use scenarios include: exporters demonstrating their quality management capabilities to importers or third-party audit institutions, submitting it before bidding, supplier audits, or contract signing, or serving as a quality assurance basis for long-term supply. Notes: Different countries or industries may have specific version requirements (such as IATF 16949 for the automotive industry), and it is necessary to ensure that the manual content is consistent with actual operations to avoid audit nonconformities; the manual must be regularly updated and controlled, and must not be modified arbitrarily. The difference from a 'Quality Plan' is that the manual is a system-level, general document covering the entire company, while a plan is a project-level, targeted document for a specific order or product. Unlike an 'Inspection Report,' the manual does not target a specific batch but proves that the system continuously meets standards. Foreign trade practitioners should be familiar with its English version in order to communicate with overseas customers.
