Inspection Booking

Inspection Booking is a key step in foreign trade processes, referring to the act where the buyer or its designated third-party inspection agency (such as SGS, BV, Intertek) schedules a time with the seller or factory for quality inspection after production is completed and before shipment. Usage scenarios typically arise when the contract stipulates 'Pre-Shipment Inspection' (PSI) or when a letter of credit requires an 'Inspection Certificate'. Precautions: 1) Booking must be made in advance, usually requiring at least 3-5 working days after production completion to allow the inspection agency to schedule; 2) Inspection standards, sampling plans, and cost-bearing party must be clearly defined; 3) If inspection fails, it may lead to rework, shipment delays, or even buyer rejection. Unlike 'inspection' itself, 'inspection booking' emphasizes time arrangement and process coordination; unlike 'final inspection', it may be a booking for interim inspection or pre-shipment inspection. Foreign trade practitioners should ensure booking information is accurate (such as address, contact person, quantity of goods) and keep written records to avoid extra costs or disputes due to missed appointments.
