Customer environmental requirements refer to the environmental standards or restrictions imposed by overseas buyers on products and their production, packaging, transportation, etc., commonly seen in markets such as the EU and North America. Usage scenarios include: contract quality clauses, supplier audits, inspection standards, and responses to technical barriers to trade. Notes: First, the requirements may involve specific regulations such as RoHS, REACH, CE, FSC, carbon footprint, etc., and testing methods and limits must be clarified; second, environmental requirements are often linked to cost and delivery time, so compliance costs should be assessed in advance and included in quotations; third, requirements vary greatly among customers and must be confirmed order by order to avoid defaulting to old standards. Compared with 'quality requirements,' environmental requirements focus more on regulatory compliance and sustainability rather than pure performance; compared with 'certification requirements,' they may include indicators not mandatory for certification but set by the customer, such as the recyclable proportion of packaging. Foreign trade practitioners should obtain third-party test reports before sampling and mass production, and retain compliance evidence to prevent returns or claims.
