Fumigated Wooden Case

Fumigated Wooden Case refers to a wooden packaging box that has undergone fumigation treatment to eliminate pests (such as longhorn beetles, termites, etc.). It typically uses methyl bromide or heat treatment, complying with the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM 15). Usage scenarios: When exporting goods that require wooden packaging, especially to countries with strict requirements such as the US, Europe, and Australia, a fumigation certificate (e.g., IPPC mark) must be provided. Precautions: The fumigation certificate must be issued by customs or an authorized agency, with a validity period of 21 days (for methyl bromide) or must be used within 21 days; after fumigation, the wooden case should be shipped as soon as possible to avoid secondary contamination; the mark must be clearly printed on at least two opposite sides of the wooden case. Differences from other terms: Ordinary wooden cases do not require fumigation but may be rejected by the importing country; plywood cases, plastic cases, and other fumigation-free packaging do not require this treatment, but differ in load-bearing capacity and cost. Fumigated wooden cases are a compliant method for solid wood packaging, but note the higher cost and potential residue affecting goods (e.g., food).
