Customer Compensation Seller

"Customer compensates seller for repair" refers to a situation in after-sales repair where, due to the customer's own reasons (such as incorrect operation, unauthorized modification, or providing a wrong fault description), the product is damaged or repair costs increase, and the customer must pay corresponding compensation to the seller. It is common in out-of-warranty repairs, return repairs, or cross-border after-sales scenarios. Usage scenarios include: when the customer requests repair but the responsibility lies with the customer, the seller lists compensation terms in the quotation; or both parties negotiate that the customer bears part of the repair costs. Notes: the contract should clearly specify the scope of compensation (such as parts fees, labor fees, freight), responsibility determination standards, and payment methods, to avoid confusion with "seller compensates customer." It differs from a "warranty claim," which is the seller's quality compensation to the customer; and from "repair costs," because compensation emphasizes additional losses caused by the customer's fault.
