Repair Quality Guarantee

Repair Quality Guarantee is a common after-sales service clause in foreign trade contracts, referring to the guarantee commitment provided by the seller or repairer to the buyer regarding the quality of completed repair work. Its core contents include: guaranteeing that the repaired equipment or product can be used normally within a certain period (guarantee period); if a failure occurs due to repair quality issues, the repairer is responsible for free re-repair or compensation. Usage scenarios are mostly seen in the after-sales repair sections of export contracts for machinery, electronic products, engineering contracting, etc. Notes: 1. The guarantee period must be clearly specified (e.g., 6 or 12 months after repair); 2. The scope of the guarantee must be defined (only the repaired part or the entire machine); 3. It should be distinguished from Quality Guarantee, which targets the overall quality of new products, while Repair Quality Guarantee only targets the repair service itself; 4. Exemption clauses should be agreed upon (e.g., human damage, force majeure). Unlike 'Warranty,' Repair Quality Guarantee focuses more on the quality of the repair act rather than the original quality of the product. Foreign trade practitioners should refine this clause in contracts to avoid disputes.
