Test Sample

A test sample is a sample provided by the seller or buyer in foreign trade to test product performance, quality, specifications, etc. It is usually not intended for final sale, but only for laboratory testing or small-batch trial use. It is common in industries such as chemicals, electronics, and machinery. Usage scenarios include: the buyer requests a test sample to verify whether the product meets standards; the seller proactively provides a test sample to win orders. Precautions: test samples are generally free or only charged a sample fee, but shipping costs are usually borne by the buyer; the testing standards, testing cycle, and sample quantity must be clearly specified; a test sample is different from an approval sample, which is used for the buyer's final confirmation as the basis for production; it is also different from a pre-production sample, which is made before mass production. The difference is that a test sample focuses on functional verification and does not involve appearance confirmation. In addition, test samples may involve intellectual property protection, and a confidentiality agreement must be signed. In foreign trade correspondence, the purpose of the test sample, cost bearing, and subsequent handling methods should be clearly stated to avoid disputes.
