Energy Efficiency Rating

Energy Efficiency Rating is a graded label that measures the energy consumption efficiency of products such as electrical appliances and electronic devices, usually represented by letters or numbers (e.g., A+++ to D, or grades 1 to 5). The higher the grade, the better the energy efficiency and the more power-saving. In foreign trade, this term is commonly found in product labels, technical documents, and contract clauses in markets such as the EU, the US, and China, and is an important basis for product market access and consumer choice. Usage scenarios include: providing energy efficiency test reports during export customs declaration, letters of credit requiring the indication of energy efficiency rating, and displaying the rating in e-commerce platform listings to attract buyers. Notes: energy efficiency rating standards differ by country (e.g., EU ErP Directive, US Energy Star), so regulations of the target market must be confirmed before export to avoid return shipment or fines due to non-compliant ratings; also note the difference between energy efficiency rating and 'Energy Label,' the latter being a physical label containing the rating, energy consumption data, and other information. Unlike 'Power,' energy efficiency rating focuses on efficiency rather than absolute energy consumption.
