Company Standard

A Company Standard refers to a product or service standard independently formulated, issued, and implemented by an enterprise to regulate internal production, quality control, and technical requirements. In foreign trade, company standards are often mentioned when importers require products to meet specific standards or exporters need to prove product compliance. Usage scenarios include: contract technical annexes, quality inspection clauses, product manuals, etc. Precautions: Company standards are usually lower than national or international standards. If the importing country mandates certifications such as ISO or CE, company standards may not be recognized; before export, confirm whether the other party accepts company standards to avoid returns or claims due to non-compliance. The difference from national standards (GB) and international standards (ISO) is that company standards are independently formulated by the enterprise and apply only internally or as agreed in contracts, while national and international standards have broader authority and mandatory force. Therefore, foreign trade practitioners should clarify the standard basis in contracts and conduct third-party testing when necessary.
