Measurement List

A Measurement List is a type of foreign trade document used to record detailed information about the dimensions, specifications, volume, and weight of goods. It is typically prepared by the exporter or manufacturer before shipment, serving as a supplement or component of the Packing List, and sometimes used independently. Its core purposes are: 1) providing a basis for the carrier to calculate freight charges (especially when billing by volume or weight); 2) facilitating the importer's verification of quantity and specifications; 3) used for customs declaration and commodity inspection. Use cases include: export of products with large specification variations such as clothing, footwear, and bags, as well as bulk or oversized cargo requiring precise volume measurement. Notes: The Measurement List must be consistent with the actual goods, and data should be accurate to two decimal places; if merged with the Packing List, it must be clearly marked. Difference from Packing List: The Packing List focuses on the number of packages, gross/net weight, and total volume, while the Measurement List emphasizes the specific dimensions (e.g., length, width, height) of individual items and corresponding quantities, facilitating the calculation of total volume. Difference from Specification List: The Specification List focuses on technical parameters (e.g., composition, performance), while the Measurement List focuses on physical dimensions.
