REACH Certification

REACH certification, officially the Regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, is a mandatory compliance requirement of the European Union for chemicals and their downstream products (such as textiles, electrical and electronic appliances, toys, etc.). It is not a traditional 'certificate', but requires companies to demonstrate through the four processes of registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction that the content of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) in products complies with limits. Usage scenarios: Almost all goods containing chemical substances exported to the EU, including chemicals, plastics, coatings, inks, textiles, furniture, etc.; customers often require a REACH compliance declaration or test report. Notes: REACH is not a one-time certification; the SVHC list must be continuously updated (currently over 200 substances); if the SVHC concentration in a product exceeds 0.1% and the annual export volume exceeds 1 tonne, notification to ECHA is mandatory; violations may result in cargo detention, fines, or even market bans. Difference from RoHS: RoHS only targets specific hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, while REACH covers all chemicals and articles, with a broader scope. What is commonly called 'REACH certification' in foreign trade is actually REACH testing or conformity assessment.
