CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade)

CCPIT stands for China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. It is a national foreign economic and trade organization composed of representative individuals, enterprises, and organizations from China's economic and trade sectors. It also operates under the name 'China Chamber of International Commerce' (CCOIC). Its core functions include: issuing certificates of origin, ATA carnets, and commercial certification; handling consular legalization; issuing international commercial certificates; mediating economic and trade disputes; organizing overseas exhibitions, international conferences, and business inspections; and providing trade information and training. In foreign trade scenarios, CCPIT typically appears as an officially authorized institution in letters of credit, customs declaration, customs clearance, and exhibition documents, for example, requiring 'a certificate of origin issued by CCPIT' or 'a commercial invoice certified by CCPIT'. Note: CCPIT is not a government administrative department but a semi-official promotion agency. Its certification documents enjoy international recognition but are not equivalent to customs or commodity inspection certificates. Unlike 'customs' and 'commodity inspection', CCPIT is not responsible for cargo inspection and taxation. Difference from 'China Chamber of International Commerce': They are different names of the same organization. In external commercial activities, contracts or documents are often signed or issued under the name CCOIC. Foreign trade practitioners should familiarize themselves with the business scope of local CCPIT branches to efficiently handle relevant certifications.
