Contract Quality Management

Contract Quality Management is a core component in the execution of foreign trade contracts, referring to a series of management measures taken by both buyer and seller to ensure that goods meet the agreed quality standards. Its implications include: specifying quality clauses in the contract (such as specifications, grades, tolerances, inspection standards, etc.), and verifying the consistency of actual goods with the contract through inspection, testing, certification, and other means. Usage scenarios include: negotiation of quality requirements before signing the contract, in-factory inspection during production, pre-shipment inspection (PSI) before shipment, destination port inspection after arrival, etc. Precautions: quality clauses should be specific and quantifiable, avoiding vague expressions; clarify the inspection agency, inspection time, location, and cost bearing; distinguish between 'quality non-conformity' and 'quality tolerance'; note the difference from 'Quality Assurance', which focuses on the production system, while contract quality management focuses on contract compliance. Compared with 'Quality Control', contract quality management emphasizes more the legal binding of the contract and the division of responsibilities between trading parties.
