E-Port

E-Port (Electronic Port) is a public data exchange platform jointly developed by China Customs and other port management authorities. It enables data sharing and networked verification among import-export enterprises, customs, taxation, foreign exchange, banking, and other departments. Use cases: Enterprises handle customs declaration, inspection application, foreign exchange settlement, tax refund, and payment through E-Port, e.g., submitting customs declaration forms and checking clearance status via the China E-Port system. Notes: Enterprises must first complete E-Port network access procedures and obtain an IC card or UKey; ensure data accuracy during operation, otherwise customs clearance or tax refund may be affected; there are time limits (e.g., export tax refund declaration must be filed before April of the following year). Distinction from other terms: E-Port is not the same as Single Window—the former focuses on multi-department networked verification, while the latter is a one-stop integrated service platform; it is also not the same as cross-border e-commerce platforms, which target B2C transactions. E-Port is the infrastructure for compliant foreign trade operations, and enterprises should assign dedicated personnel to manage it.
