FCA (Free Carrier)

FCA (Free Carrier) is one of the Incoterms (International Commercial Terms). It means that the seller delivers the goods to a carrier designated by the buyer at a specified place, thereby completing the delivery. This term is applicable to any mode of transport, including multimodal transport. Usage scenarios: The seller is responsible for delivering the goods to the specified place (such as the seller's warehouse, container yard, airport, etc.) and handling export customs clearance, while the buyer is responsible for arranging the carrier and bearing subsequent freight costs and risks. Points to note: If the delivery location is the seller's premises, the seller must load the goods onto the transport vehicle provided by the buyer; if the delivery location is elsewhere, the seller only needs to deliver the goods to that location without unloading. Point of risk transfer: When the goods are handed over to the carrier. Difference from FOB: FCA is applicable to any mode of transport, while FOB is only applicable to sea and inland waterway transport; under FCA, the seller is not responsible for loading the goods onto the ship, while under FOB, the seller is responsible for loading the goods onto the ship. Difference from EXW: Under FCA, the seller must handle export customs clearance, while under EXW, the buyer is responsible for export customs clearance.
