Terminal

In foreign trade and logistics, 'Terminal' does not refer to customer relationship management, but to a specific facility or area in a port, airport, or inland container depot used for loading, unloading, storage, and transshipment of goods, such as Container Terminal, Bulk Terminal, Oil Terminal, etc. Usage scenarios include: shipping companies, freight forwarders, and terminal operators coordinating berthing, loading/unloading, storage, gate handover, etc.; in bills of lading, packing lists, and arrival notices, the Terminal name of the port of loading/destination is often indicated. Notes: Different Terminals have different operating rules, free storage periods, dangerous goods qualifications, and cut-off times, which need to be confirmed in advance; Terminal charges (THC, storage fees, shifting fees) are often billed separately from ocean freight. Difference from 'Port': Port is the overall port area, Terminal is a specific operating area within the port; Difference from 'Warehouse': Terminal focuses on cargo transshipment and temporary storage, Warehouse focuses on long-term storage and distribution. Foreign trade practitioners should accurately distinguish to avoid document discrepancies or extra costs due to mixed use.
