Customer management carton in foreign trade typically refers to a paper-based container used for packaging, transporting, and protecting goods, serving as the basic packaging unit in logistics and warehousing. This term is not a strict foreign trade professional term, but rather a general term in business practice for cartons as objects of customer management or order management. Usage scenarios include: declaring packaging types during export customs clearance, confirming packaging specifications with customers, calculating container loading quantities and freight, and identifying inventory units in warehouse management. Notes: The material, dimensions, load-bearing capacity, and printing content of cartons must meet customer requirements and importing country standards (e.g., ISPM 15 regulations for wood packaging do not apply to cartons, but attention must be paid to moisture resistance and stacking strength). The difference from 'Pallet' and 'Container' is that cartons are the smallest packaging unit in direct contact with goods, while pallets and containers are larger units used for consolidation and transportation. In foreign trade, 'Carton' is often used as a quantity unit, such as '100 cartons', and must be distinguished from 'Piece' and 'Set'.
