Pallet

In foreign trade terminology, 'Pallet' does not refer to customer relationship management, but to a horizontal platform device used in logistics and transportation for consolidating, stacking, handling, and transporting goods. It is usually made of wood, plastic, or metal, facilitates forklift operations, greatly improves loading and unloading efficiency, protects cargo, and reduces cargo damage. Usage scenarios include cargo consolidation in sea, air, and land transport, especially common in full container load (FCL) or less than container load (LCL) shipments. Precautions: Must comply with international phytosanitary standards (such as ISPM 15); wooden pallets must be fumigated or heat-treated and marked with the IPPC logo, otherwise they may be rejected by the importing country; pallet standard sizes vary by country (e.g., European standard 1200×800mm, American standard 1200×1000mm), and must be confirmed with the customer; the pallet itself may be counted in cargo weight and volume, affecting freight charges. Difference from 'container': A pallet is a unit load, while a container is a large transport vessel; difference from 'packaging': A pallet is a carrying tool, while packaging is the outer layer protecting the goods.
