Cold Sealing

Cold Sealing is a packaging sealing technology that bonds adhesive layers at room temperature through pressure, without the need for heat. It is commonly used in flexible packaging for food, pharmaceutical, and personal care industries, such as candies, biscuits, and disposable medical supplies. Usage scenarios: When products are heat-sensitive or need to avoid wrinkles and deformation caused by heat sealing, cold sealing is an ideal choice. Precautions: Cold seal adhesive must match the substrate, and pressure and time need to be precisely controlled; otherwise, it may lead to weak sealing or leakage. Storage temperature and humidity affect the adhesive's tack. Difference from Heat Sealing: Heat sealing requires heating to melt and bond materials, suitable for most plastic films; cold sealing relies only on pressure, suitable for heat-sensitive materials or high-speed packaging occasions. Difference from Adhesive Sealing: Cold sealing usually refers to roll film pre-coated with cold seal adhesive, while adhesive sealing may involve additional application of adhesive. In foreign trade, cold seal packaging should be clearly marked as 'Cold Seal' to distinguish it from heat sealing, and attention should be paid to the regulatory requirements of the target market.
