PET Strapping

PET strapping is a plastic strapping made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), widely used for securing and fastening goods during transportation, especially suitable for heavy, large, or export packaging. In foreign trade, this term often appears in packaging material procurement, cargo reinforcement, and logistics. Compared with PP strapping, PET strapping has higher tensile strength, impact resistance, and weather resistance, and is less prone to breakage, making it suitable for heavy cargo or long-distance transport; compared with steel strapping, it has lower cost, does not rust, and is safer to handle. Precautions include: selecting appropriate specifications (width, thickness, tensile strength) based on cargo weight, ensuring compliance with the destination country's environmental requirements (e.g., recyclability), and paying attention to storage conditions to avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight. Foreign trade practitioners need to specify in the contract the material, specifications, quantity, and packaging standards to avoid cargo scattering or claims caused by strapping quality issues.
