Double Wall

Double Wall is a structural term for corrugated cardboard, referring to a five-layer board made by bonding two layers of corrugated medium and three layers of containerboard (outer liner, middle liner, inner liner). Common flute combinations include AB, BC, BE, etc. Its thickness is typically 6-10mm, and its compression strength and cushioning performance are significantly better than single-wall (three-layer) and triple-wall (seven-layer) boards. In foreign trade, double-wall cartons are often used for packaging heavier, fragile, or high-value goods such as home appliances, mechanical parts, and ceramics, to meet the strength requirements of long-distance ocean shipping and multiple handling. Use cases include: export transport packaging, large-item e-commerce logistics, precision instrument protection, etc. Notes: select the appropriate flute type based on cargo weight and stacking height; double wall costs more and is bulkier than single wall, which may increase freight; confirm the importing country's fumigation requirements for wooden packaging (cartons are usually exempt from fumigation). Compared with single wall, double wall improves compression strength by about 50%-100%, but weight and cost also increase accordingly; compared with triple wall, double wall is lighter and less costly, suitable for most medium-to-heavy goods.
