Palletizing

Palletizing refers to the process of neatly stacking goods on a pallet according to certain rules and securing them with stretch film, strapping, etc., to form a transport unit that is easy to handle with a forklift. Application scenarios: suitable for full-pallet or mixed-pallet cargo in sea, air, and land transport, especially common in FCL/LCL, Amazon FBA inbound, etc. Precautions: confirm pallet material (wooden pallets require fumigation/heat treatment and IPPC mark), dimensions (e.g., European standard 1200×800mm, American standard 1200×1000mm), load capacity, and stacking layers; after palletizing, the cargo height should not exceed 1.8 meters (depending on the mode of transport), and the center of gravity must be stable. Difference from 'bulk': palletizing improves loading/unloading efficiency and reduces cargo damage, but increases volume and weight, which may affect freight costs; difference from 'container loading': palletizing is unitization, while container loading is loading into a container. Difference from 'labeling': palletizing focuses on physical stacking, while labeling focuses on information identification. In foreign trade, palletizing standards must be clearly specified in the contract to avoid rejection or extra costs due to non-compliant pallets.
