E-Declaration

Electronic customs declaration (E-Declaration) refers to the operational method whereby import and export enterprises or their agents transmit declaration forms and accompanying documents to customs in electronic data form through online platforms such as the customs electronic port or the International Trade Single Window, completing the entire process of declaration, review, taxation, and release. It replaces traditional paper-based customs declaration and features high efficiency, accuracy, and traceability, and is widely used in general trade, processing trade, cross-border e-commerce, and other scenarios. When using electronic customs declaration, note the following: enterprises must complete customs registration and electronic port network access in advance, ensure that declaration data is consistent with accompanying documents, and avoid rejection or inspection due to logical errors or omissions; also pay attention to customs compliance requirements regarding declaration deadlines, tariff classification, and rules of origin. Compared with 'paperless customs declaration,' electronic customs declaration emphasizes the electronic means of declaration, while paperless customs declaration focuses more on the entire process being free of paper documents; compared with the 'Single Window,' electronic customs declaration is a specific declaration act, while the Single Window is the platform that carries out that act.
