Repair Complaint

Repair Complaint refers to a formal complaint filed by the buyer to the seller during the after-sales stage of foreign trade, requesting repair due to product malfunction or damage. It is common in the trade of durable consumer goods such as mechanical equipment and electronic products. Usage scenarios include: the buyer discovers quality issues within the warranty period after receiving the goods and sends a repair notice to the seller; or the seller receives complaints from the buyer due to untimely response or poor repair quality in after-sales repair services. Note: A repair complaint is different from a Quality Complaint—the former focuses on the repair process, while the latter targets the product quality itself. It is also different from a Claim—a repair complaint usually does not directly demand monetary compensation but requests repair or replacement. Foreign trade practitioners should note: the contract should clearly specify the warranty period, repair responsibilities, response time limits, and cost bearing; upon receiving a repair complaint, the problem should be confirmed promptly and solutions provided to avoid escalation to arbitration or litigation. The difference from 'Return' is that a repair complaint primarily seeks repair, while a return involves contract termination.
