IPQC (In-Process Quality Control)

In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) refers to quality inspection activities conducted on work-in-progress or semi-finished products during the manufacturing process. Its core purpose is to promptly detect defective items between processes, prevent mass quality incidents, and reduce rework and scrap costs. Usage scenarios: In foreign trade order production, buyers often require suppliers to provide IPQC records to monitor production stability; factories also adjust process parameters based on IPQC data. Precautions: IPQC differs from IQC (Incoming Quality Control) and FQC (Final Quality Control) in that it emphasizes process control rather than result screening; inspection frequency, sampling standards (such as AQL), and record formats must be clearly specified in contracts or quality agreements to avoid disputes arising from inconsistent standards. The difference from OQC (Outgoing Quality Control) is that IPQC targets semi-finished products during production, while OQC targets finished products before shipment.
