Warranty Period

The Warranty Period is a common clause term in foreign trade contracts, referring to the period during which the seller is responsible for guaranteeing the quality of the goods. Within this period, if quality issues arise that are not caused by the buyer, the seller shall be responsible for repair, replacement, or compensation. Usage scenarios include export contracts for durable goods such as machinery, electronic products, and components, often listed alongside inspection clauses and claim clauses. Notes: 1. The starting time must be clear, commonly several months after shipment or several months after arrival; 2. The scope of guarantee should distinguish between normal wear and quality issues; 3. It differs from 'Shelf Life', which applies to perishable products and emphasizes the effective use period under specific storage conditions. The Warranty Period focuses on the seller's guarantee of product performance and is often associated with the 'quality objection period', but the objection period is usually shorter and only used for filing claims. Additionally, warranty period and 'guarantee period' are often used interchangeably in Chinese, but in foreign trade contracts, 'Warranty Period' should be used consistently to avoid ambiguity.
