EMS

EMS (Express Mail Service) is an international express delivery service jointly provided by postal administrations of various countries. In foreign trade, EMS is commonly used for sending samples, documents, and small items. It features strong customs clearance capability, trackability, and relatively lower prices compared to commercial couriers. Usage scenarios include: sending proforma invoices, contracts, certificates of origin, and other documents to customers, or small batches of samples. Precautions: EMS is a postal channel, and its timeliness is not as good as commercial couriers like DHL and FedEx, usually taking 3-7 working days; some countries may impose tariffs, which need to be clarified with customers; EMS has restrictions on cargo dimensions and weight (generally no more than 30kg per piece, length no more than 1.5 meters). Differences from commercial couriers: EMS customs clearance is more flexible, especially with higher tolerance for sensitive goods (such as items with batteries), but tracking information updates are slower and compensation standards are lower. Foreign trade practitioners should choose appropriate channels based on cargo value, timeliness requirements, and destination.
