Order Management

Order Management is a core component of the foreign trade process, referring to the comprehensive management from customer inquiry, quotation, and contract signing (PI/PO) to order entry, production follow-up, vessel chartering and space booking, customs declaration and inspection, shipment, documentation, payment collection, and after-sales tracking. Its use scenarios cover Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and supply chain collaboration, aiming to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately, timely, and at low cost. Precautions include: strictly reviewing order terms (such as price, payment method, delivery time, trade terms), and avoiding confusion with 'Order Processing'—the latter focuses on documentation operations, while Order Management emphasizes full-process monitoring and coordination. The difference from 'Procurement Management' is that Order Management faces the sales side and focuses on customer order fulfillment; Procurement Management faces the supply side and focuses on acquiring raw materials or finished goods. In addition, Order Management requires close collaboration with logistics, finance, customs, and other departments to prevent exchange rate, credit, and transportation risks.
