Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 2 a.m. on weekdays to accommodate students' late-night study needs. To fund this, the library will reduce its weekend hours, closing at 6 p.m. instead of 10 p.m. The administration believes this change will better serve the majority of students who study late on weekdays and less on weekends.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I'm not happy about it at all. W: Really? I think it's a good idea. I often pull all-nighters on weekdays for my projects, and the library closing at midnight is inconvenient. M: But cutting weekend hours is a huge downside. I usually go to the library on Saturdays to catch up on readings and write papers. It's the only quiet place on campus then. W: I understand, but you could study in your dorm or a café on weekends. The demand is much higher during the week. M: That's not true. Many of my friends, especially those with part-time jobs on weekdays, rely on weekend library time. Besides, 2 a.m. is too late; most students don't stay that late. It's a waste of resources, and we lose valuable weekend access.
