Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university library will extend its hours to 24/5 (Sunday through Thursday nights). This change aims to provide more flexible study options for students during peak exam periods. To accommodate this, the library will reduce its weekend hours from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. to 10 a.m.–6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The university believes this adjustment will better serve the majority of students who study during the week.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I can't believe they're cutting weekend hours. W: Yeah, I saw it. I actually think it's a great idea. I always struggle to find a quiet study spot on weeknights, especially before finals. Having the library open all night Sunday through Thursday would be perfect. M: But what about students who have part-time jobs on weekends? They rely on those long weekend hours to catch up on reading. W: That's true, but most students I know study more during the week. Plus, on weekends, we have the student center and other coffee shops open late. The library's new 24-hour option during the week helps the majority. M: I still think it's unfair to those weekend workers. Some of us only have free time on Saturdays and Sundays. W: I get that, but I think the trade-off is worth it. I personally prefer studying late at night, and I know many others do too. The extended weekday hours will reduce crowding and give us more flexibility.
