Campus Notice: The university will extend the library's weekend hours starting next semester. The library will now be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, instead of closing at 6 p.m. This change aims to provide more study time for students, especially during exam periods. Additional funding will be allocated to hire more student assistants to manage the extended hours.

M: Did you see the notice about the library hours? I think it's a great idea. W: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, who actually uses the library on weekends? Most students study in their dorms or the student center. M: But during finals, the library is packed, and it closes too early. I've had to leave at 6 p.m. right when I'm in the zone. W: I get that, but extending hours every weekend seems wasteful. They could just do it during exam weeks. M: But having regular hours means we can plan better. Also, they're hiring more student assistants, so it creates jobs. W: Jobs? Those are low-paying, and it might take away from study time for those students. M: Still, I think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The extra time lets me and others focus without rushing, and the jobs are flexible. W: I see your point, but I still think it's an overreaction. The library is rarely full on a normal weekend evening. M: Well, I hope they prove you wrong.
